After my second child was born, I opted to use the IUD, Mirena. My doctor told me it would help with my heavy periods, making them less intense over time. Well, that wasn't exactly the case. My periods actually got worse. I bled more and cramped worse. Anyway, I had it in from June 2003 until it FELL OUT in February of 2006, resulting in the pregnancy of my third child. The entire time I had it in, my then-husband complained that it poked him during sex. And I had never in my life heard of an IUD falling out. My doctor said that it was rare indeed. Has anyone else had similar complaints about IUD's in general or Mirena in particular?
